Atkinson Grimshaw
There is currently an excellent exhibition being shown at the Mercer Gallery, Harrogate until the 4th September 2011. Well worth visiting if you are a fan of Atkinson Grimshaw’s work. He was a popular painter of the Victorian age, living and working in Leeds, London & Scarborough. His paintings are well known for their evocative moonlit scenes, which appear in landscapes, suburban lanes, gas lit city streets and docksides.
