Boards are bumped with grooves beginning to show signs of wear. Bindings are a bit shaken. Lovely bookplate (front pastedown) of Major F.A. Holmden DSC with family crest and an animals head. Frontispiece has been trimmed at the top to remove an inscription or name, plate is undamaged. Pages are tanned on the outside edges and have a small red mark. Minimal foxing, if any. Condition Good, with the plates in Very Good Condition. Vanity Fair is the story of the alluring, amoral Becky Sharpe and her assent from an impoverished background up the social ladder. A glorious satire on love and social adventure wonderfully enhanced by the illustrations of Lewis Baumer that capture Becky's character. A really nice edition.
