Boards in violet cloth with embossed title. 316pp; 158 lithographs. No dust jacket. Boards stained and bumped; Loss to the top of the spine; Upper board is split part way up the spine groove; Page margins are dirty in places with fingerprints & marks.; All plates present, but 2 with closed tears. This edition presents a comprehensive selection of the highly emotional political drawings of the First World War by Belgian artist Louis Raemaekers. Each plate is accompanied by a description by (amongst others) G.K. Chesteron, Eden Phillpott, John Buchan, Herbert Warren. This book will be of interest to anyone studying the First World War, political cartoons or illustrations, though the book condition is only fair.
