Geoffrey Moorhouse arrived in Mauritania in October 1972 to begin a traverse of the great Sahara desert, from the Atlantic to the Nile, by camel and by himself. No one had ever made such a journey before, but the establishment of a record crossing of 3,600 miles was not the essential reason for making his attempt. This was to examine the bases of fear, to explore an extremity of human existance.
Overall Condition: Very Good
