JOHN COCKSHAW EXHIBITION OF ARTWORKS - FRIDAY 23rd MARCH UNTIL SATURDAY 28th APRIL 2018
We're delighted to be holding an exhibition of original art works by John Cockshaw, a Ripon-based artist. His exhibition will run from the end of March until the end of April and will include a selection of paintings, photography and drawings, as well as some mixed media works.
All work will be for sale.
JOHN COCKSHAW is a Ripon-based artist and alumni of Sheffield Hallam University (BA Hons Fine Art and Mres in Art and Design 2002, 2003). His artistic work covers colourful abstract and landscape painting through to sequential photography and work with a fantasy/sci-fi flavour. His literature inspired art based on the works of JRR Tolkien and Susanna Clarke have been exhibited recently in The Great North Art Show in Ripon, and other galleries in Lancaster, Chester and Knaresborough. Most recently, his association with The Tolkien Society has led to exhibitions in Oxford and the opportunity to showcase his art in Birmingham, Seville and Germany. Since 2014 John has also curated group exhibitions focusing on Tolkien's literary creation of 'Middle-earth' at various venues in Ripon, Sheffield and Newcastle. Also a video artist and keen poet, John is most satisfied with multiple projects to work on and working in varying media. His fourth book as illustrator, and second collaboration with Luna Press Publishing in Edinburgh, 'The Prisoner' will be released in late March 2018 at FollyCon (the 69th British Science Fiction Convention) in Harrogate.
