Dado Woodworking Plane.
Rear of the plane is marked 5/8. This old plane is marked with 2 previous owner’s stamps - 'D. Malloc, Perth' and 'H. Kennedy'. Also, 'Frederick Willey, Opposite Corn Exchange, Leeds'. There are numerous stamps of 'Leeds' to both ends and the sides. Frederick Willey was a saw maker and tool dealer in Leeds (shown on census from 1871 to 1891). This is a delightful old tool that would be interest a collector of tools or would look good on display simply as a decorative antique. The wood has a lovely patina and as expected, displays its light 'battle scarring' with pride. A lovely tactile object that is in good condition and allows you to wonder about its previous owners and history.
