This fourth volume of autobiography sees the author leaving England for Scandinavia, then onto Spain where he becomes passionately involved with a young American man. An all consuming love affair that is to haunt him ever afterwards. This absorbing story of his life includes encounters with a host of important literary personalities including J. R. Ackerley, John Betjeman, E. M. Foster, Colin McInnes and William Plomer. It is written sometimes with bitterness, yet with pathos, humour and remarkable frankness too. The narrative is enriched by a selection of the author's own poetry.
Overall Condition: Very Good
